The hunting areas of the Veszprém Forestry lie to the north of Lake Balaton in the eastern part of the Bakony Forest and comprise 18,163 ha. Over 70% of these beautiful areas are covered with oak and beech forests. The countryside is hilly and lies 400-600m above sea level.

The hunting areas in the Bakony Forest provide an excellent habitat for wild boars. Every year there are successful drive hunts for wild boars in the open areas, but the areas are also suitable for individual hunts. The red deer population is also good. The average trophy weighs 6-8 kg. The red deer trophies from the Bakony Forest stand out by their dark colour. Due to the mountainous habitat the roe deer population is not so good. The average antler weighs 200-300 g.Apart from these three game species, moufflon can also be hunted. Every year several rams are shot with horn lengths between 70-90 cm. The half of the mouflon trophies shot in this area get a medal by the trophy scoring. The forestry management has divided its area into two parts, Zirc and Királyszállás, each one having its own attractions for the hunter.

Accommodation for both, Zirc and Királyszállás is in the Alsópere Hunting Lodge. The hunting lodge lies in a beautiful forest far from any villages. 1st Class (12 double rooms and 1 room with 4 beds). A smaller lodge in Alsópere (5 double rooms and 1 four-bed room) is also available.
