The most important game species are the red deer and the wild boar. The quality of the red deer population in these areas is world-famous. The red deer, which have excellent features, reach the age of 14-16, when their powerful antlers are at their largest. In the beech forests, which are so characteristic of the Zalai Hills, deer with antlers weighing more than 10 kg can be found.
