This hunting area mostly covered with pine, oak and beech forests. The climate is sub-alpine like while this is the wettest area of the country.

The red deer population which lives in Zala country is world famous, most of the trophies earns gold medal. On the world record list of red deer antlers, which contains the best 50 antler of the world, 4 trophy are from Zala country, while 16 are from Hungary.

The second most important wild species of this area is the wildboar. Every year in winter there are several driven hunts organised by the forestry.

In case of the tusks are above 16 cm, you have to pay 500 €  /  pcs extra charge.
