The wildlife reserve is located near the Hungarian-Slovenian border and the town of Nagykanizsa. A typical hunting area in the hills of Zala, mostly covered by deciduous forests. The surface is varied, divided by valleys and water cracks. The continuous water supply of the area is ensured by a stream whose source is in the area.
All 5 game species that can be hunted in Hungary live in the fenced hunting area, so it is possible to hunt red deer and fallow deer, as well as roe deer, wild boar and mouflon. Many of the red deer and fallow deer trophies that were hunted received gold medals in the trophy judging.
