Roe buck hunting directly next to the Austrian border

Sobor

Size of the field: 4.000 ha

Type of the field: Free range

The area is located near the northwestern border and is highly popular among foreign hunting guests. Due to its quick and easy accessibility, hunting opportunities are often fully booked because of the proximity to Austria, therefore long-term advance reservations are required. The density of the roe buck population is high, in accordance with the habitat, while the quality of the trophies ranges from medium to excellent. The most successful periods for roe buck hunting are in the spring months and during the rutting season. The rapidly growing vegetation in spring often allows for successful roe buck hunting already at the beginning of May. The peak of the rut can be expected at the end of July, but more likely in early August. Roe buck hunting is carried out from high seats or by stalking. In many hunting areas, it is also conducted from off-road vehicles. During spring hunts, hunters should be prepared for shots at longer distances of 180–200 meters.
