The landscape is very diverse, the hilly Cserhát lies between the higher mountain ranges of the Börzsöny, the Mátra and the Inner Carpathians.
The main hunting in the area is red deer and wild boar.
Although this area does not have the densest and best red deer population in Hungary, the area offers beautiful and successful red deer hunting to hunting guests. The weight of the trophies is usually between 5-7.5 kg, but in some areas even heavier deer weighing 8-9 kg can be killed.
Hunting in some structured parts of the area is sometimes not easy, and good physical condition can be a great advantage. The red deer jump starts later than in Transdanubia, and accordingly the real peak is expected only in the second half of September.
