Fallow buck hunting in East - Hungary (Tiszadob)
Size of the field: 5.300 ha
Average size of the trophies: 3,5-4,5 kg
Tiszadob was a populated settlement even before the Hungarian conquest, and the Táncsics Hunting Association farms here on 5,300 hectares, in the western corner of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county.
We had a small population of fallow deer from the time of the Counts Andrássy. The remaining population survived all the horrors of the 20th century. These fallow deer come from an unknown place, have short tusks and a lighter color. After that, between 1978 and 1980, fallow deer from Gúth were introduced to Tiszadobr – with state assistance. The two populations mixed, the fallow deer here have darker tusks than the individuals living in Gyulaj, and the current antler stems are longer compared to the Counts' fallow deer.
